Blacksnake Derby Game: My First MVP!

The Blacksnake Roller Girls had their first game last Saturday in St. Joseph, Mo. I was fortunate enough to be part of a team of Dead Girls ("Gravediggers") who went up to play them.

And what news is that? The BSRG skaters nominated me as the Gravediggers' MVP!

During introductions, I wiped out during my lap. The coaches were trying to mix things up a bit, so instead of playing my usual jammer with some pivot, I played mostly blocker with some pivot. It was a fantastic experience to focus on booty blocking and knocking down opponents!

While I am fully proud to be a Royal Pain and wouldn't want to play for any other team, I love skating in new places and with different skaters. We won by three points, and played in front of a crowd of more than 1,300 people. Holy crap!
