Last Chance: Mustache May-Hem

I Mustache You to Marry Me

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (May 14, 2012) – Who says you can’t find love in roller derby? In the mass chaos of skating around the rink, protecting your jammer and yourself, there is still love. This is especially true for Ida Watchit of Dead Girl Derby, who will be getting married at the May game.

Ida and Josh “Yoshi” met through Anya Neezenbeg, Ida’s teammate and Yoshi’s cousin. Although they had been introduced before, the connection this time was immediate, and the two have both bonded over a love of roller derby. “We laugh together,” Ida says. “We have fun together. We remember to ‘live’ together. We are both passionate about derby and that is why this all makes sense to happen at a game.”

A member of the league since season one, Ida considers everyone in the league her family, which is why she’s chosen to hold her wedding during the May bout. “I want to share this time with the people I care most about,” she says.

Although details about the wedding are being kept secret, Ida has revealed that she will be able to skate in her dress, her dog, Mojo, will be involved and pink is obviously one of their colors.

Make sure to bring your mustache to the wedding of Ida and Yoshi. And while you are at it, stick around for the double header of Deadly Sirens vs. Royal Pains and Lovely Lethals vs. Shotgun Sheilas. The wedding will occur at half-time.

Tickets are available online at www.deadgirlderby.com as well as at the door. Adults are $14, children ages 6 to 12 are $7 and children under 6 get in free.
