Omaha: No Ink, Food Instead

About two weeks ago, I drove my derby-sore and -sleepy self to Omaha for a tattoo.

If you've been paying attention, you know that I got my most recent tattoo in Kansas City.

So, yeah. I drove three hours to Omaha to find the shop closed. My Facebook messages on my phone confirmed that I was stupid and drove all the way out there on the wrong date. Crying real tears of frustration and covered in bruises from the previous night's bout, I wasn't really in a state to check out the zoo or any of the other things that are supposed to be pretty cool about Omaha. I looked abused.

I did still need food before heading back, and that was pretty cool.

Black bean burger on a wheat bun with baked cajun fries from Blue Planet Natural Grill. I'm going back to this place whenever I'm in Omaha. Yum!

Spiced apple cupcake from Jones Bros Cupcakes. It was all right. I wasn't impressed, and wouldn't go back. Or if I did, I'd try one of their other desserts.

And I'd get another iced latte. This was one of the best iced lattes I've ever drank, and I've had a lot of those. It was possibly the least crappy part of my day.

What do you do when your travel plans don't pan out?
