Klout Perk: Limited Edition Camo Edition Red Bull

I was working from home and drinking this when my husband brought in a box that had showed up in the mail.

How badass is this?

New Tattoo

I told the artist (Jason Saint at Mercy Seat in Kansas City) that I wanted a bird that was a cross between a cardinal and a swallow on my hip. I'm thrilled with the result!

New Videos: Hearing Loss, Body Image

I've posted a few other videos on my YouTube channel since last posting. Sorry about the lack of posts again lately. All my extra efforts are going into roller derby and Real World Beauty at the moment!

Real World Beauty

It all started when I posted this one little photo on Facebook last Friday.

Now it's turned into a Facebook page that's spreading like crazy: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Real-World-Beauty/363098887135667

There are videos of my dorky self talking about body image. Here's a copy of the first second. Another one and subsequent videos are available on my YouTube channel.

You Can't Enter Heaven Unless...

This photo was taken by me near my house. Vote for it on FailBlog for me, please?

I only mean this to be amusing, not offensive. Here's a picture of a pretty flower from my front yard as well.

Hearing Aids and Pretty Earrings

There is a filter on this photo, but my hair really is this red right now. I love it!

The angel wing earrings are from last weekend's clothing swap. They seem to be brand-new, and I couldn't believe someone would want to part with them. Score!

Fun fact: My mom took me to get my ears pierced when I was in kindergarten so I wouldn't be ashamed to show off my ears. It worked!

Making the Best of a Rainy Day

Last weekend, my roller derby team was supposed to have team photos done. Our theme is Mad Max, so I was excited to throw together these boots, silver tights, fishnets and crazy earrings.

Then we were rained out. I decided to go ahead and do a trial run on hair and makeup anyway.

I'm liking it! I wore the hair and makeup to open skate that afternoon, and got some weird looks at the gas station beforehand. On the drive home, a small child flashed me a peace sign from the back seat of his parents' car.

Not one to waste perfectly good hair and makeup, I reused them that evening with a rockabilly outfit to meet friends for dinner. All in all, a win of a day!
