Summer Produce Salad
I haven't forgotten about this blog. I think about it all the time, and want to write. As usual, life just gets so busy! Other than derby or tattoo posts, I feel like I have nothing to say. If I did post about food, it would look something like this:
"Ordered Chinese today. Ate it all. Tasted like delicious, spicy regret."
"My feelings taste like pizza and cookies. My feelings are delicious."
"Ate peanut butter off a spoon before derby practice. Works for me."
None of this is really worth putting out into the blogosphere. But then I made this salad.
I signed up for Door to Door Organics a few weeks ago, and I like it so far. The hubby is picky about his produce (read: prefers not to eat produce if he can help it), but I've liked everything I've gotten. The first box, I ate all! I'm doing mixed fruits and veggies, smallest size, every other week. Yesterday, my second box showed up.
So I immediately tore up half a head of green lettuce. Diced half a tomato and half a peach. Then I added sharp fancy cheese from my fridge, olive oil I'd bought at Dean & Deluca earlier in the day, blackberry ginger Balsamic vinegar, some fresh cracked pepper, and a tiny bit of salt.
What can I say? I'm a food snob. But holy deliciousness! I'll be eating the other half of everything tomorrow. Try it for yourself!
